About this session

This session will offer an open reflection on a recent Dutch disciplinary case concerning psilocybin treatment and professional conduct. Using the resulting ruling as a starting point, the discussion will explore the boundaries of professional responsibility in psychedelic therapy from ethical, legal and regulatory perspectives. Bringing together perspectives on the legal status of psychedelic substances — including the fact that psilocybin-containing truffles are legally available through smart shops in the Netherlands — disciplinary practice and international psychedelic advocacy, the session aims to stimulate dialogue within the professional community on how professional standards and responsibilities should evolve in response to emerging clinical evidence, growing societal demand and this recent ruling.
