Scholarship programme
Application Deadline
15 April 2026
At the OPEN Foundation, we believe meaningful progress in the psychedelic field depends on diverse perspectives, equitable access to knowledge, and the inclusion of voices from different disciplines, cultures, and lived experiences.
To support this, ICPR offers a number of scholarship tickets for individuals whose financial, geographical, or structural circumstances might otherwise prevent them from attending the conference. Through this programme, we aim to make ICPR more accessible to those contributing to the field who may otherwise face barriers to participation.
What the scholarship covers
Scholarships are provided in the form of significantly discounted conference tickets.
Please note:
- Scholarships only apply to ICPR conference tickets
- Travel and accommodation are not included
- Applicants must arrange and cover their own travel and accommodation
Applicants will be asked to indicate how much they are able to contribute toward the ticket cost, if any.
Contributing part of the ticket price allows us to support a larger number of participants with the limited funds available.
Eligibility
We welcome applications from individuals across disciplines and backgrounds who are engaged or interested in psychedelic research, therapy, policy, or community work.
- Come from low-income backgrounds
- Live or work in regions with more limited access to academic conferences
- Are students, trainees, or early-career researchers
- Are part of historically underrepresented or marginalised communities
- Have participated in psychedelic clinical trials
- Are involved in community, advocacy, or public health initiatives
As part of the application process, we ask a few questions about identity and background to help us promote accessibility and diversity within the conference community. These questions are optional and are only one part of the overall review process.
If some of these questions do not apply, applicants should not be discouraged. Individuals whose circumstances merit consideration are still welcome to submit an application.
Application questions
Applicants will be asked to answer a few short questions as part of the application process:
A brief introduction and description of the applicant's connection to psychedelic research, therapy, policy, practice, or community work.
If relevant, a description of any financial, geographical, institutional, or other barriers that may make attending ICPR difficult without financial support.
The motivation for applying for a scholarship and how attending the conference could support the applicant's work, studies, or community engagement.
Confirming participation
Because we expect a high number of applications, scholarship places cannot be reserved indefinitely.
- You will receive an acceptance email with all the instructions
- You will need to purchase your ticket within 14 days in order to confirm your participation
If the ticket is not purchased within that period, the scholarship will be offered to another applicant.
